The trailer for the game was shown afterwards featuring comments from real pro-skaters. - We skipped directly to a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 trailer, which looks pretty cool. Russians are killing people, so what do we do? We kill the Russians. They fulfilled more dreams by getting straight to the gameplay like everyone wants. The Prophet of Truth's ship ruptures Slipspace and kills the majority of the ODSTs. You, the Rookie, happen to survive. You get help from The Superintendant, the artificial intelligence that controls the city of New Mombasa. It is the equivalent to Master Chief's Cortana. As you progress through the story, you flash back as other ODSTs trying to find out what happened to them. ODST drops September 22, and features a new Co-op mode called "Fire Fight". - Bungie has also been at work on a new game called "Halo: Reach". Instead of using infrared lights on a controller, it senses your arms, legs, and everything else to bring you a completely life-like experience to gaming. It also includes facial and vocal recognition, and you can imagine the air infront of you as a touch screen, scrolling through scrollable things. Steven Speilberg is a supporter of Project Natal. Everyone loves music, movies, and other media like that, but some are intimidated by games. He thinks that by creating simpler entertainment, the technology will become invisible; breaking down barriers of intimidation. Mattrick brought out the Creative Director of the Project, Kudo Tsunoda. Natal allows players to jump infront of the screen and get signed in. That's right, Project Natal will be able to recognize the faces of gamers and sign them in automatically. The player can move around and the avatar moves with him. He can swipe up and down, left and right to look through the menus. Tsunoda showed us a game called "Ricochet", a human version of Break Out. After making fun of the Wii by saying it only uses predecided waggle motions (which was somewhat justified), he told us that Natal would truly bring motion controls to gaming. Another game was called "Paint Party" and allows users to use their bodies to paint pictures on the screen. He showed many varied ways to paint pictures, and after sodomizing some Asian chick, they formed the picture of an elephant in Kenya. Peter Molyneux was brought in front of the audience to describe that if we can remove controllers from gaming, we will truly revolutionize it. He showed a video of Project Natal being worked with at Lionhead Studios. Milo is a complex AI that can understand voices, recognize faces, and understand sentences designed to work with Project Natal. At one point, we start to see the dip in the Uncanny Valley where the person working with Milo reaches down to get a pair of goggles that Milo threw at her, even though the game never told her to. She could have simply done the movement to put goggles on her head but didn't. No matter how Project Natal plays out, I think we can agree that it will revolutionize gaming for years to come. |
