Nintendo
 - Nintendo choose to open their press conference with about six television screens going at once explaining why their products were for everyone. We were told to welcome everyone's least favorite Marketing VP, Cammie Dunaway to the stage. She seemed like she was stretching her neck out to make sure everyone in the back of the theater heard her. Appearantly last year gaming was as big as home video, toys, and also bigger as music and box office combined. She says this reason is because the Wii gave non-gamers a chance at video games. She described Mario as an icon that gamers and non-gamers alike can recognize. Dunaway introduced Bill Trennen to explain how the a game called "New Super Mario Bros." for the Wii would change how people viewed the series.

 - From what was shown, nothing looks too revolutionary, just a combination of different games. Multiplayer is added, but is nothing new to gaming. You can pick up other players just like The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, and when you die, you come back in a bubble like Yoshi's Island. You get a new item called a Propeller Suit which allows you to fly around like a helicopter. The team can see many wasted hours flying around in those suits in-game. New Super Mario Bros. will launch worldwide in Winter 2009.

 - Wii Fit has been the best selling video game in America for the past 13 months. Dunaway tells us that since 15 million units have been sold, it could be considered its own gaming console. Nintendo's goal was to make fitness exciting, and they have since announced Wii Fit Plus. It will help users design a workout suited for them. 15 new balance games have been added, and it seems Cammie is getting a little excited about these new games. Before she left, she made a comment how this all will keep Wii where it deserves to be, at the top.

 - The crowd cheered as Dunaway left and as Reggie Fils-Aime took center stage (because everyone knows he rocks and she sucks). He explained that innovation is what keeps Nintendo on top and how Wii MotionPlus can make games more realistic. The theater didn't know what to think when they were shown a strange video of people using Wiimotes as substitutions for ping pong paddles, swords, and other objects. It showcased Wii Sports: Resort later in, and everything made sense. Reggie brought Trennen back out on stage (Thank God it wasn't Dunaway) to explain how the peripheral helps increase the experience. Because it's so life-like, it's not about learning controls, it's about using simple knowledge to master the game. He brought Reggie back on stage to play a game of basketball. It was close for a while, but Reggie pulled it back in at the last second. The game will launch July 26. EA has announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 will incorperate Wii MotionPlus, as will Grand Slam Tennis, and Sega's Virtua Tennis 2009. All three of those games will be available in a few weeks. Red Steel 2 is so precise that it needs Wii MotionPlus to function. In the past year, the Wii and DS sold the most third party titles of any console taking first and second place respectively.

 - Squeenix will be releasing Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers exclusively to Wii, as will a new edition of Kindgom Hearts.

 - Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story showcases a shrunken Mario and Luigi that have been ingested by Bowser. Congrats to Nintendo for the creative title. The game hits Western Earth this Fall.

 - Golden Sun DS brings the franchise back to the light of day. Explore the land with the power of the magical Djinn and Summons soon.

 - Cammie returned onto the stage (NOOO!) to announced Women's Murder Club: Games of Passion, which just looks horrible.

 - Ubisoft's Cop: The Recruit looks pretty good for a handheld game and takes you into the world of a former street racer gone cop to save his partner's life. Cliché, but whatever.

 - Style Savvy was shown, and is too gay to describe in words.

 - Nintendo thought that the Nintendo DSi would compliment the current DS Lite. 1 million DSis have been sold in the past 2 months, while 400,000 DS Lites have been sold in the same time. The fact that the DSi can share media makes it a necessity for handheld lovers. Flipnote Studio, a hand drawn movie maker, will be available this summer to DSi owners. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! will allow users to create their own levels, and will be available for DSiWare on June 8. WarioWare DIY allows users to created their own microgames to share with people over the Internet. In the future, DSi users will be able to upload photos to Facebook. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is also a new title coming to the DS.

 - Satoru Iwata took over talking for that bitch Cammie Dunaway, and told us that a couple years ago, the expansion of gaming to non-gamers was impossible. Nintendo did it anyway. Now that the trend is fading, Nintendo must find new customers. There are currently 295 million active gamers in Japan, the US, and six countries in Europe. There are also 149 million potential gamers in those same countries. Imagine the growth of the gaming population by 50%, it would be amazing. Nintendo's strategy is to absorb those 50% and create games that satisfy non-gamers and gamers at the same time (What's wrong with creating two different types of games? I can have my hardcore and they can have their Pony Paradise). He argues that all Veterans started on games like Pong, Space Invaders, and Asteroids. Why can't we keep these games going in this era? Simple games that everyone can enjoy. He said that the current strategy may not convince everyone, but if we can think about games differently, we can attract more people to the art. He announced the "Wii Vitality Sensor", which recognizes your pulse and determines other factors from the statistics it reads. However, what does this help with exactly? I don't think Iwata-san explained this well enough. Maybe an in-game heart beat to add to the mood?. Nonetheless, he believes that once the previous definition of gaming is shed, advancement can be had.

 - Ergh... Cammie's back, but this time she gets to show us something cool. For the first time, a second 3D Mario game is going to appear on the same console as another. My friends, prepare for Super Mario Galaxy 2. The trailer shows the same type of game, but with improved graphics (specifically to the environment), new abilities, and YOSHI!

 - Reggie returned the crowd's prayers to return to the floor, and he did. He told us that he wasn't oblivious to the Internet's cries of more hardcore games, usually not associated with Nintendo. He gave us three new exclusive titles coming from third party developers that showcased the more hardcare side of the Wii. Sega's The Conduit is a futuristic first person shooter with some of the best graphics on the Wii. Capcom's Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles features Leon once again fighting against the likes of zombies and, uh, more zombies. Unlike The Conduit's "some of the best graphics", this game probably takes the award. EA's Dead Space: Extraction explains the story of Dead Space before the original game starts. It also features some nice graphics, as well as flesh-eating aliens. All three games will be out by the end of the year. What about Nintendo themselves, however? Could a hardcore game be coming from them? Born from the cold depths of space comes Metroid Other M, which tells the story of Samus Aran (and the main character is kind of hot). Reggie ended with simple words: Nintendo brings you hardcore games and new advancements at the same time to make gaming available for everyone.
