The Dragon Ball Z series of videogames have always been good, well, most of them anyway... This one is no exception, with it's fast paced gameplay and brilliant cel-shaded graphics. The Tenkaichi series have one thing that a lot different from all the other "beat 'em up" and fighting games, it's the viewing perspective is from behind the caracter you're contrtolling, instead of looking at the action from the side, some may not like this at first, but you'll have trouble going back to the traditional view after you get into this new view.

The graphics in this are better than Budokai Tenkaichi 2, enviroment wise. The character models are mostly the same though. One of the major problems in Budokai Tenkaichi 2 was the story. Sure, it went through the main fights and stuff, but you couldn't follow the story, as some parts were confusing, this is sort of fixed in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, as the cut-scenes are better. The power blasts and attacks are much better in this game, presentation is fixed up, which is great!

Now onto the gameplay and character/location selection. The gameplay is the same as Budokai Tenkaichi 2, although the controls have been fixed up (Wii) and the moves are sightly different, although there's not a whole lot od depth until you learn the combo's and learn how to pull off power blasts with quick hand movements (Wii)... but once you get the hang of that, there's a lot of depth to the characters move-sets, and if you customize your character with the Z-Evolution adding  more power/Ki/speed to your character of choice. There are 160 characters, yes... ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY, that's pretty crazy for a fighting game! Also, the addition of online play on the Wii makes the Wii version the version of choice. The location selection in this game is great, as it includes alot of stages from the anime.
