If given a choice between WarioWare and Wario Land, I'd take the one where he dresses like anti-Mario anyday of the week. Don't get me wrong, WarioWare is fun, and its got my crappy sense of humor, (heh heh, fart joke), but WarioLand is just colorful, and its got Captain Syrup, who's a total babe. So, let's dive into this review.

Much like every other Wario Land game, its a platformer. Also like every other WarioLand game, its really fun. First thing you'll notice is that the graphics are completely different. And more awesome. Up until now, WarioLand games have always been handheld. This one is for the Wii (more on that later), so sprites and pixel would have looked stupid. So they redesign the graphics to look cartoony and it ends up pretty freaking awesome looking. Everything is hand drawn by a VERY good artist, and the animation flows nicely from one move to the next.

The graphics also add onto the atmosphere of the game. Wario is an anti-hero but he's also a pretty funny guy. The cartoon graphics add onto that, giving the game a light atmosphere, even during the hardest of boss fights.

Now, onto gameplay. I am VERY impressed how gameplay turned out to be. Its played by holding the Wiimote on its side, and using only the 1 and 2 buttons and the D-pad, kind of like Super Paper Mario. But with less buttons. But it also incorporates the motion feature of the Wii better then most other games. A simple shake of the Wiimote up and down and cause a MEGA-PUNCH of the Earth, you to swing on a trapeze, or emptying a treasure bag. It can get boring after a while, and the angle you hold the Wiimote at is pretty awkward for shaking, but its a fresh innovation that keeps you entertained through the first three worlds (of five).

The story is... fuck, I can't remember. Something to do with a bag that never runs out of money. So Wario wants it to collapse the global econom- I mean so he can buy everything. It was stolen by the Pirate King Shake or something. So you rescue these fairy things while grabbing treasure. Its good fun.

All in all, the fucking repetitiveness of the Wiimote shaking is my only problem.
